Transformers 3 suffers a hard blow, in the form of an accident, involving an extra.
"The movie crew was filming a stunt in Hammond, Ind., using numerous vehicles and drivers. During a stunt shortly before 7 p.m., an object struck a 2006 Toyota, went through the windshield and struck the driver."
The Toyota which was personally owned by the driver, a female, who was an extra in the movie and not a member of the stunt personnel. The Toyota continued moving and hit the inner median concrete barrier wall for almost a mile before coming to a stop, police said. Although this is not the first injury during filming it just goes to show how dangerous life on the set can be.
The crew had been filming in the area since Monday and will be filming for the last time in Chicago on Thursday. Millennium Park will be the site of pyrotechnic explosions beginning at about 6 a.m. until 11 a.m., according to information provided by Chicago's Office of Emergency Management and Communications. A helicopter will be above the Chicago River from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., with brief rooftop pyrotechnics at various high-rise buildings along Wacker Drive.
